The Arizona Cardinals hold the distinction of being the oldest continuously run professional football franchise in the nation. It was in 1925 when the team officially joined NFL and they were formerly known as the Chicago Cardinals. It was only in 1994 that they were known as the Arizona Cardinals or “The Cards” as what their fans call them. They won the SuperBowl title in 1925 against Pottsville Maroons and in 1947 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Their most recent appearance in the SuperBowl was in 2008, but lost the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers 27-23.
