In 1934, Dick Richards lead a group that purchases the Portsmouth Spartans and move them to Detroit, keeping with the jungle cat image of the city’s baseball team the Tigers, the Spartans was renamed the Lions. The Lions has 8 division titles, they had their best season in 1991 with a 12-4 record. Detroit Lions had one of the best Running Back in the game, Barry Sanders. The Lions play in Ford Field Detroit, Michigan and their team’s jersey colors are Blue, Silver, Black & White.
