The San Francisco 49ers was established on 1944 by Anthony J. Morabito, a young lumberjack business owner. The name 49ers is a tribute to all the miners of the west gold rush. The team started with the AAFL (All American Football League) and later awarded a franchise with the NFL (National Football League) after AAFL folded on 1950. San Francisco was also the first team to win a record five Super Bowls – Super Bowl XVI (26-21 Cincinnati Bengals), XIX (38-16 Miami Dolphins), XXIII (20-16 Cincinnati Bengals), XXIV (55-10 Denver Broncos) and XXIX (49-26 San Diego Chargers). Also in the franchise’s impressive winning repertoire are five conference championships and 22 divisional championships. The 49ers created some of the most celebrated hall of famers such as: FB Joe Perry (1948-60, 63), QB Joe Montana (1979-94), QB Steve Young (1987-99) and DE Fred Dean (1975-1981). The team currently plays in Levi’s Stadium Santa Clara, California and jersey colors are Red, Gold & White.
